It's no secret that Q Parker of 112 fame is dropping his much anticipated solo album, "Real Talk", this Fall and going on tour soon after. But what about what you don't know?

Q Parker can siiiiiiiing, I know, old news. He's got a strong voice but still smooth because let's be honest, he's likable to the ladies. It helps that he has a great team behind him and his new album like, hot new writer, Cri$tyle, (Mariah Carey's, "Touch my Body").

Wait, didn't tell you how he ROCKED the stage and kept the crowd on their feet this Summer during one of Atlanta's famous, "Wind Down Wednesday's" at Centennial Olympic Park? I feel bad for the other artists that take the stage post Q because he left a mark. Seeing him sing and work that stage, you can tell he gives 100% because music is his passion. He sang new songs, songs from other artists and even dipped back into the 112 vault of lyrical goodies and enticed us with those song too. And you know what, uhmmmm...nobody noticed that the rest of the group wasn't singing with him. Slim who? Okay Slim is good, he can sing. However Q's got that IT that allows him to be able to sing solo coming from a popular R&B group and look great while doing it.

So yes he is a family man BUT have you ever seen a man who loved and respected his wife be so sexy?!! Yes that's Q. In fact he wrote much of his album in dedication and love to his amazing wife. Awwwww...honest in this business a man that is truly dedicated to his family is even sexier. So he just stepped his game up.

Ice Cube says, "Today was a good day.", so I'll modify that to, "Last week was a good week." I traveled out of town for good times with friends in blazin' Florida, I noticed my hard work at the Kickboxing gym has finally been paying off (kisses her little budding "guns"), and I had the pleasure to meet and interview mega talented singer (YES she can REALLY sing, trust)/songwriter, properly penned, "The Ink" (pun intended), Cri$tyle at Atlanta based, Signature Sound studios. After our chat i was reminded why out of all the talent in the biz, writers fascinate me the most.

*Which artist that she worked with, turns out to be super cool and surprisingly undiva like?
*What's behind that fierce drive that's made her a new writing favorite?
*What does she promise to do that she's always wanted to do for her 25th birthday?
*Cri$tyle stays on the move, but what's her MOST favorite/enjoyable thing to do when she gets to relax?

So, The Ink? Is it THAT serious? Explain...

Well I'll give an obvious answer, she is in fact The Ink, because Cri$tyle is the powerful substance behind the music of some of today's industry elite: Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Natasha Beddingfield, Chilly, Q Parker (112), Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Hudson, Brandy (new album coming) and even for the up and comers like, Teyana Taylor and Keke Palmer. Ever heard of the "little" well known Billboard chart smashing ditty, "Touch my body", well, yeah that was your girl Cri$tyle, shawty (...what? i mean she was born and raised in ATL and all). And the new, "I'll be loving you long time" another of Mrs. Carey's errr i mean Cannon's (which we talk about that a little in the interview as well) new tracks featuring T.I., which is hot, much to do with the girl who wrote it because without the words, there is no song. So yes, it is that serious.

Cri$tyle, on legal documents Crystal Johnson is the coolest girl next door i've ever met. Yet she's not really a girl, she's a woman who unexpectedly fits the bill of the Hollywood come up story, without all of the HollyWeird attitude. She remembers where she's come from and has the highest of expectations toward her future. She's warm, intelligent, caring, driven, and wears cool kicks! Billboard hits, ASCAP notable, engaged to her true sweet heart, traveling the globe, being an inspiration for young adults (giving back), and hanging out with for some of your favorite artists, all by the age of 24! Move over, Keri Hilson, The Ink is gonna write you off! You know what i like about Cri$tyle, she wouldn't even want me to write something like that. She is humble and has only good things to say about people (especially on tape, LOL!). And for the record, Keri Hilson is dope, but i couldn't resist the line. And the truth is now these other writers have some serious competition because Cri$tyle is a multi talented phenom. (click on the links above to listen to the interview)

The Runway Red Fashion show brought smiles and relief to an entertained audience and HIV/Aids charity.

Kids of Atlanta celebrities like: Q Parker (112), Ryan Cameron (V-103 radio), Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas (TLC), Antwan "Big Boi" Patton, (Outkast)and Atlanta entertainment boss royalty, Jermaine Dupri.

The kids ran the show, literally, as one adorable curly headed youngster ran down the runway, tripping as she fell to quickly get off of the stage. The great part is that it only added to the appeal of the show! The night opened with singing, dancing, and then fashion. Chilli and her son hosted the event and took turns sharing the podium with Danity Kane's D.Woods, Mo Stegall (The Self Show, www.theselfshow.com), and others who spoke on raising money and education for the highlighted disease.

D.Woods celebrated her birthday at Atlanta hot spot, Luckie Food Lounge on 4th of July eve. Danity Kane, The Girls Club (consists of D.Woods, her sister Shanelle and Meeka Means), Llyod, B.Cox, Gorilla Zoe, Bangladesh, Don Cannon, Mychael Knight, and notably the infamous DJ Jazzy Jeff on the spin, joined the pop star for a night of fun, 80's singing, and great cake! (red velvet ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery...yummmm i promise!)

The stage was ran by The Girls Club (a group with D.Woods in it) who took it back to the Madonna days (when they sang, "Don't Stop Believing" I swear i almost started crying like a wet baby. They did pretty damn good!), DK graced us with one song (but didn't seem so enthused...could be due to the irconcert earlier at Six Flags), and Rock City. Rock City tore it up and even had me jumpin' in a dress and heels. These boys are HOT!

New TV show about how the Atlanta police do it!

"Atlanta Investigations: HD" (the HD stands for homicide division), is coming to air on Dish networks, Colours Network July 3rd! The show's focus is on real unresolved murders in Atlanta. YET it will not be broadcast in Atlanta. HUH?! Well not yet. We know that will HAVE to change cuz that would just be crazy.

What's exciting about this show is that it is the first TV show drama filled in Atlanta with Atlanta in the title. We've had NYPD Blue, Law and Order, CSI, and of course The Wire, so having a southern based show gives adds a new flavor to police drama. Mmmmm smells like waffles and fried chiken. And I like, i like! Meeting the cast, I have to say viewers have something to look forward to. They are all wonderful and devoted. I had a chance to interview and take pictures of the currently unpaid actors (they are troopers, they will not be paid until the show airs!) when they did a promo back in the earlier part of this year. I'm so enthused for them. Their hard work and determination has paid off as they've worked their backs off to get recognition and a spot nationally on network television.

Hats off to Hattie Lemon and Carl Millender, the shows creators, director and producing team who have fought for the dream. Currently the shows budget is $100,000 an episode, pennies...almost unthinkable in the industry, when other like television episodes have million plus dollar budgets, however that hasn't discouraged the AI team to make lemonade out of lemons. Right Hattie. (wink!).

New York's HOT 97 cans big mouth Miss Jones!

I have to be honest. I hate big mouths. I mean people that always talk trash about other people as if they don't have their own damned dirt underneath their fingernails. Still i wish no drama on anyone. But apparently someone has on Miss Jones of HOT 97 in New York. Eyyyyyyyeah. She has been replaced by the lovable, Big Boy because he has better relationships with artists and is good entertainment according to HOT 97’s Program Director, Ebro Darden.
I heard that Jones has a new gig on some AM Philly show. So....good luck. Hey this may be a blessing in disguise for her. Who knows. Oh well...

Ex Idol, Studdard and Surata Zuri McCants made it official this past Saturday as they jumped the broom in an Atlanta ceremony. Word is the two met at a Walmart when he was signing CD's as she shopped. I don't know what happened from there but the end result is marriage! Awwww shucks. Aint they cute?! He just seems like such a kind man so i'm happy for them. Ol girl better take care of him! There may have little to worry about since Rube was famously dropped from his record label earlier this year for lack of sales so it mustn't be the money she is after. Apparently Zuri, mother of one, has been around the block with a few different football players and industry power players BUT anyone can change and settle down with the RIGHT guy. She probably saw that all the money and good looks in the world do not mean happiness or love. Real love can still exist these days right?? Riiiiiiiiiight! Naw but i predict they will last. God bless true love.

Keith Sweat still croonin'...

I did go to his album listening party held at The Geisha House in Atlanta's Atlantic Station, but i didn't even tell yall cuz i was so disappointed (plus i wasn't really covering the event like THAT). I was mad as hades at the way the label ran thangs up in that piece! Yeah yeah yeah i know Sweat is a legend and all but i aint SWEATING no artist that is not in my top five (how you doin' TMobile) like that! Those jerks were acting like taking a picture of him came with a price. Well price this %@%$&%#@!!! Oops okay girl, stick to the news.

So while the new album, "Just Me", sounds good, it's pretty much the same as the old stuff. He does have a cool track with female music don, Keisha Cole called, "Love you Better", that is promising as well as the released, "Suga Suga Suga". He also has a greatest hits album, "Make you Sweat", that they were pushing at the event, still of course on sale with hits like, "I Want her", "Why me", and "Nobody" (my FAVE!!). Get more info on his new album and his greatest hits album which i'd buy more so than the new one, on his myspace page. So there it is...better late than never.

Bottom line:
Keith Sweat is still THE man. But THE man hasn't changed. But when you have the history that he does...do you have to?

I got to be on this video set (my 1st one yall so be happy for me!) to take pictures and check out the scene during the shooting. Director Devin Hampton was a MAD MAN on the set but he got the job done!

JC has a nice voice and he's down to earth so i hear from his friends. But i also had the chance to discover this myself when i spoke to him at his first Bday Bash (Hot 107.9 radio) appearance less than a week ago (listen here about his new album and Bday Bash)! He's not Hollywood at all and i hope it stays that way but who the hell knows. In this business many things come and go. Here is to JC and a little staying power if you will!

Hmmmm. Well you know that I had a chance to interview Campbell earlier this year about his new movie, "Oblivious", and his involvement in Blaque's new reality show, "Black in the House", set to air this Summer. When I asked him about the PRESENT relationship with his famous cousin Perry he was pretty mum and only said, "We are not as close as we should be.". From there I knew but didn't pry. I must say however that he didn't pretend that Perry was involved in his current projects either, he was very legit. Well still, the proverbial ish finally hit the jagged fan and the two are certainly not kissing cousins. So what's up with Tyler Perry anyway? Yes if Marlon didn't ask to use Tyler's name he should have BUT still why is Tyler so mad at his family? He's a big 'ol Christian so what is going on behind the surface that put the man so up in arms?! Did he have to go that far? We'll find out why. More on the story as it unfolds!
