Kanye West chills in Atlanta over the weekend. Was his ATL concert better than Jay's??

Kanye's highly anticipated "Glow in the Dark" concert tour featuring Pharell, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna finally hit the A this past weekend. My friend and ace, Shem went and said that the concert was bananas! Even better than Jay's (with Mary J) recent concert that hit our great city and i'm like dayum! Yet not shocked. I know that Kanye has major talent. See Ye is the performer while Jay is the more mature seasoned vet with the better business sense. Once Ye cools down on all of his emotion he may be playing in the same league that Jay does. But Ye's got that talent, that crazy genius way about him that creates insane lyrics, awesome press (even though he is banning the press at this point, i get cuz they DO twist folks words) and a style frenzy (Jay can dress but Kanye dressesssssssssssss). Not that the two rappers can be compared on every level, but if to be compared on an intelligent writing, and stage performance level, I'd choose Ye. Not that Jay can't write (he's hot) or ain't got a great presence. It's just that Ye sounds better on paper intellectually and Jay has been around for so long that he's kinda lazy on stage...and damn he can be. He's older so he aint gotta jump around the way Ye does (plus that aint Jay's style or energy), and will sell tickets without really trying. It's good to be Jay. Jay still beats Ye in the swagga department. That boy is tooooo cool for words. Kanye goes off too much to be cool. He's a hot head. He's real wit it, and honest but he's a hot head. Jay will just ignore you and treat you like you are a peasant. AND get away with it. Dag. Incredible Swagger.

Kanye ripped it. Rihanna sang well (so i heard but am not yet convinced), and Lupe fell (and got right back up...he did a Beyonce) on the stage while doing his thing. It's not funny (stifles giggles...) yall.

Rihanna and Chris Brown supposedly were chillin' all lovey dovey at The Verge Lounge (who knows...) and Kanye skipped his after party at Studio 72 (been and I didn't really dig it like i do the Velvet Room), and went to The Chill Spot at 300 Bowling Alley (had a few lanes reserved. I dig the more intimate party instead of clubbin' it alllllllll night long. Love Kanye.) with Quincy Jones, Chaka (DTP) Polow, and Quincy Jones and then hung with Pharell and Jeezy at the Velvet Room. Kanye always does what he wants to do. But if he didn't...would he even be Kanye anymore??

My boy Gyant at SOHH has more. Click here for some pictures and even a little bit of video of Kanye at 300. He was on the scene!

AG Entertainment & Konvict Muzik Present- BU's birthday celebration at the Compound this Thursday night!

For some this is another reason to party on a Thursday. I have a final, and another event before that so I won't be there. But if ya wanted something to do, here you go and have fun. I know girls like to be around those men in the game with cash. I could care less and infact would stray far from such types but hell that's just where i stand. The Compound needs to brush up on their security by the way since less than a week ago (at the hip hop fashion show with Ashanti, Ray-J, who was accompanied by Whitney Houston...hmmm...eehehee, and Mario) there was a shooting of a young man. But I'm sure they are on it since the horrible event.

Later Bunnies!!!

Estelle dances the night away at Sa Bor Lounge after her Sugarhill concert

Estelle...Say, "cheese!"
I don't normally like to post pictures of myself on the blog BUT i'm breaking the rules today...Shem, Estelle, Tammy, Me, and Mecca at
Sa Bor Lounge after Estelle's concert at Sugarhill

Well the crowd wasn't big enough so the talented John Legend didn't show his pretty little face after his concert at Sugarhill last night BUT Estelle being the newbie and trooper that she is held up her end and came and rocked with us a little in VIP at Sa Bor Lounge's Bailey's, Mercedes Benz Buckhead sponsored event.

Estelle is your best friend, the cool chick next door with the flamin' brit accent, the no fuss girl who is real, the funky dresser who's style works over that super buff bod, the girl who likes to dance around as if she's the only one in the room...and i like her.

Sa Bor Lounge is pretty tight yall. It boasts of two levels, a balcony, a private room and has a very red light district meets soul suite vibe to it. Thursday nights are free allllllllllll night long baby. Have fun!

Sa Bor Lounge (near Phillips Arena)

150 Walton St.

Atlanta, GA 30303

Thank you to Bytuah Gonsahn of Iron Global, and Clay West of 5 Star Media for VIP access and a few pictures. Also thank you to David of Estelle's management team for setting up the future interview. I look forward to it and so do others...Estelle is gathering a cult following and is quickly becoming a pop icon (Vibe and Blender magazine) with her disco flavored, feel good "American Boy".

Jam a little, listen to Estelle's "American Boy" here! If you receive this post via email or feed please log onto www.FindEntertainmentNow.blogspot.com to view the above video. Thanks!

Presenting "The Wiz" at Sugar Hill

You can buy, "The Wiz" on DVD right here!
some of the ladies sitting and enjoying the scene before the movie event!

I can't tell you how long it had been since I'd seen Sidney Lumet's, "The Wiz"! I could've told you about "Wizard of Oz" but, the black version of the mythical movie...forget about it! The most persistant memory I had of the movie experience was being a kid, kinda being made to watch it on certain occassions and having a jolting case of acid reflux syndrome the last time i'd seen it...so whenever I thought of "The Wiz" my throat automatically started hurting. But that is until a couple of days ago. I recently had the pleasure of watching this classic at an event cleverally dubbed, "Cinemartini" sponsored by Courvoisier at Sugar Hill in the Underground Atlanta. Well the city wasn't so emerald inside Sugar Hill...more ruby red slipper but that suited me just fine, the red vibe gave the evening a slight edge.

I sat amongst the familiars but mostly strangers who were all truly fans of the black spin on the original tale. I mean these people were getting up and dancing, easing down the road (or the club it was held in), and saying lines vehemently before Diana Ross' Dorothy could even move her lips! Omg...i was so embarrassed with myself and secretly mad at my parents for a few minutes for not making me watch the flick more as a kid so i could know the next moves of Micheal Jackson once he got off of that pole! But then I got over it and became just as excited as the rest of the crowd, and even sang a little bit, albeit off key to the tunes of this newer Oz. I can honestly say that this film is one of those cult classics. If you haven't had the pleasure of watching it recently...go ahead and check it out...good memories...good times.

The newer Oz brought me to another thought. What if...what if there were a 2008 version of "The Wiz"? If I were the casting director who would I choose the play the coveted roles in my over the top dramatic big screen version? Well here goes my list:

Dorothy: Beyonce. Duh. This girl is such a performer...singing, dancing! Can't you see this chick easing down the road and making you wanna get up and do the holy dance??!! YUP!
The scarcrow: TI. With that skinny body and that loveable killa swag TIP would make us go out and see the movie a few times over! Okay so he can't sing...but who says the crow can't rap??!
The Tin Man: Usher or Tyrese. That voice...and his face (either one) would look like a dream all oiled up in a nice darker brown or black. Mmmm hmmmm.
The Cowardly Lion: Alphamega or Cedrick the Entertainer. Big boys you don't mess with. But maybe deep down inside they are not so hard.
Evillene: Fantasia...she can sang...hello. And she is thick, the brothas like that.
The Wiz: Steve Harvey man...all day long.
Auntie Emma: Phylicia Rashad. People I just saw her Monday night in Kenny Leon's, "A Raisin in the Sun" and I was sooooooooo impressed. I see why she won the Tony for her broadway performance. Three words: FAB U LOUS!
Glenda The Good Witch: Halle Berry or Kerry Washington. "Bad" chicks but such sweet and lovely faces. Almost angelic.

Now i know...i know...i heard there was another version made last year with Ashanti...but it wasn't so hot. So therefore we need mine and it will have all the missing elements that the other lacked. And further more I'll re-name the classic to something clever like..."Welcome to Oz"...no no wait...how about, "Dreams are made in Oz", or "Welcome to Oz, everything else is Kansas". Let me keeping thinking about that. But I got ideas! So go on now, write me a check!

Hmmm...I think I'll take up casting and directing one day. Watch out now!

Thanks to Nicole Garner and The Garner Circle PR for the invite! This PR agency is on top of Atlanta's entertainment events! And thanks to Lachelle Morris for pointing out Ivory Weems, artist development at DTP Records who hosted that night, so I can make contact for more interviews. Lachelle is such a gem and a wealth of information.

Enjoy your Wednesday lovlies!

The Compound club Atlanta is down but love is in the air for Eva Pigford

Atlanta's beloved club, Compound on Brady St. shut down its door this past weekend but not without partying it up celeb style. Celeb guests included: Akon, Eva Pigford, Lance Gross, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Jazze Pha, Jeezy, & etc.

I wanted to post this picture from Sandra Rose's sight specifically because I really like to see black couples in lovededed! Eva Pigford (ANTM) and Lance Gross (House of Payne) have been dating for almost a year now (according to them) and are too cute. I had an interview with him not too long (coming to post soon!) ago where she arrived at his condo (right during the end) and you could tell that there was real love and admiration between the two. They adore each other...and it makes me smile. Anyway look out for Lance's new movie coming out next month: Meet the Browns with Angela Bassett and Rick Fox. Lance plays the young high school bball player. He's a great guy from what I've seen. And they are again blessed to have each other. I hope they continue to be happy together. He is such a dream!

p.s. Visions night club will be re-opening so don't be so sad about the Compound AND you still got the Velvet Room Atlanta folks and guests!

KE Consulting, Kim Ellis 2 year anniversary party at club Motions on Wednesday night

KE Consulting's, (PR, consulting and marketing firm) Kim Ellis is throwing her 2 year anniversary party for her firm's launch tomorrow at club Motions in the Underground Atlanta. Previously the party was scheduled to run at the Casa Nirelle Mansion in Dunwoody, GA so make a note at the change to Motions.

Last year KE's party was held at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts. Guests included: Fabo, Crime Mob, PSC, Alphamega, Xstaci, Shay "Buckey" Johnson and several music producers and industry business hustlers. I hear this year it will be three times as big with even more of an A list celeb appearance such as invited guests like, Jeezy, Dro and etc. I've already talked to some of the people that say they are definitely going...but I'll keep those names under wraps...guess you just gotta get your butt out of the house!!! This IS the place you want to be for networking in the EI (Entertainment Industry). Kim is one of the most talked about and loved consulting firms for the industry out here right now so people will show and it will be a cool time. 21 to enter, Doors open at 9:00 p.m., and be prepared to pay a cover charge. Click here for more information on KE's myspace page. But if you do stay home or have other plans, I shall tell you all about it...you KNOW how i do. :)

Mychael Knight introduces Kitty & Dick lingerie line at club Opera

Joi, Mychael Knight & TweetKitty Litter

Go Falcons!
Pretty from "I Love New York 2 "and "College Hill" reality star
Brian Jordan
D. Woods (Danity Kane) holding it down!

Princess (Crime Mob) came to show loveKitties Litter performs with Joi
He didn't win on project Runway but he's won in the hearts of celebrities like, D. Woods, Queen Latifah, Jagged Edge, 112, Ciara, Lisa Raye and Eva Pigford. His unique designs are sexy and body complementing. Now Mychael Knight introduces The K&D Suite collection. A line of lingerie classy and yet uber sexy.

Last night at club Opera on Peachtree Rd. in Atlanta, Myke invited a few of his celebrity friends like D. Woods (who has a new season of Making the Band coming to MTV soon), Brian Jordan, Princess (of Crime Mob...cute as a button), Pretty (from VH1's I Love New York 2. And he told me..."Yes the show is real, and yes it was valid for him to get mad at the way New York treated his sister, and no he would not take a woman like New York out in public and, now he is recently signed with a modeling agency) a few Atlanta Falcons as well as other guests out to join him for a spicy fashion show case. K&D or Kitty & Dick...a mixture of male entwined with female and naughty brushed up against nice, is modeled by a group of lovely ladies called, Kitty Litter. The super six model the lingerie and bring more appeal to it by performing. They are chosen to represent Kitty & Dick. My vote is great idea!

When I first heard the name, Kitty Litter I turned my nose up thinking..."How dumb" but by the end of KL's first dance I was on my feet wanting the litter of girlie kitties to continue their erotic stage cat dance. I am a woman but the music mixed with these professional flawless dancers was intoxicating even for an all straight woman like myself. And I sat through several different sets of Kitty Litter performing to the sounds of the DJ (i'd hire dude for a party) that was on fire the entire knight! Or maybe part of my awe was the sponsored Hennessy that they kept serving to the guests all night long. Do try Hennessy and Pomegranate juice mixed...wow...all I gotta say...wow! Thanks Hennessey!

Speaking of purrrrrrrrrrrrrfect performances, Joi performed, looking super glam and Tweet ended the evening with "Oops" performed just like it was several years ago with the onstage kitties feverishly dancing joy into the hearts of every red blooded male in the FULL audience. Yet there was no need for women to feel insecure. I got a sense that these girls are very real, and normal women who have on good make-up and work amazingly well with their choreographer, Victor Jackson. That's not to diminish them but to make them more touchable to the common woman out there who maybe feels she can't compete. Advice: Don't! We all have our talents and dancing is theirs. And that fact left me with the feeling that I had been to the most incredible fashion show EVER...in 2008! Well what do you want me to say? It's only January so give me some time to see how Mychael's competition fares. But yes he put on a fab SHOW...dancing in fashion made it that much more electric.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather at club Dreamz last Saturday

Floyd smiling for me (yeah he wants me...giggle) in one of the VIP rooms at club Dreams
It's all about the Benjamin's baby!
Floyd (in the white t) and his boyz making it rain on them O's!
Jason Jeter and Alphamega from Grand Hustle showed up to show some love.

He made it rain (yes he threw out thousands of dollars into the crowd), he gave out bottles of champagne, he talked ish while he paraded on the stage, he tried to pay dancing hopefuls (girls of course) $1,000 for a shake 'em dance contest but the contest never took place, but mostly he just smiled and cheesed the entire night as women relentlessly flocked him like he was a new diamond encrusted Prada bag left unattended. Welcome to the world of Floyd "Money" Mayweather! He tore up club Dreamz on Saturday night celebrating his latest boxing win against Ricky Hatton.

The money man who gained a reported $11 million from his latest brawl may stand 5 foot 4 on a good day, and have an old man's name but he's got a very young, magnetic and vibrant spirit. You can tell he would be a kick A** friend to have. Club Dreams is a HUGE spot, with three VIP areas in Atlanta located on Clairmont Rd. off of 85. They had Lil Kim and Gucci Mane the weekend before so check them out. Thanks to Dante of Lotus Lounge for putting us on the list and AK the Razor Man from Grand Hustle for getting me in VIP. AK's got a new video coming out yall. Look out for this HOT hustler! Other people that came through that night were: Jason Jeter, Alphamega, Shay "Buckey" Johnson, Bobby Valentino and Cedric the Entertainer. Anyway these are pictures i got of the party and Floyd that night...he was so much fun and very nice, a little spacey, but very nice. I was feverishly bored to tears the entire night until i got to meet Floyd, get some pics and then my camera went out like the damn luck that i have so i left...it was 4:15 in the morning yall so I was happy to go. Anyway I say all that to say I was bored and tired until I met the boxing champ who's infectious spirit helped to pick up my drained body a bit. Go Floyd...the best trash talker in boxing...EVER!

I hope your new year was exciting and yet peaceful darlings. :)

Ciara and friends party at the Velvet Room in Atlanta

CC arriving in style
" The Glamerous...flossy...flossy"

Interviews...interviews...everyone wants to talk to the princess

CC and Ne-Yo in his signature cap... (they are both very nice)

An 8 foot cake made for a sweet diva! YUM!!!

Daddy and Mommy...such a great family
"Hi I'm Bobby V!"

Diamond wasn't iced out
Above pics from Celebrity Woo Hoo
Getting tired of hearing about Ciara? Well too bad cuz she's hot right now with her 5 city birthday tour, Rocawear modeling & endorsement contract and new movie adaption of the play, Momma I Want to Sing. CC's got her hands full.

Well stop number 3 on her 5 city tour was in hometown, Atlanta as I mentioned last week. She came to the A last night right in the middle of her promotion to celebrate in her born city with her fans, friends and family at the Velvet Room club, arguably one of the hottest night spots in Atlanta, period!

Ciara was joined by her father, mother, Ne-Yo, Lil Scrappy, London (R&B singer recently signed to Hush Management by Kinky B), Diamond (Crime Mob),Drumma Boy (music producer),Stay Fresh (music producer), Buckeey (Shay Johnson), Bobby Valentino, "Punk" (muscle hunk of I Love New York 2), and a host of others to celebrate her Atlanta birthday party in style!

As Ciara arrived looking FAB and toned to grace the red carpet at 12:45 a.m., she was noted saying upon an interview that this was the first time in her musical career that she had a birthday party in Atlanta.

She seemed to have fun requesting songs as well as sing some of her own jams (that were being played for a good portion of the night) from her towering spot in VIP, that had almost as many people in it as the actual dance floor did. When I got to VIP some girls were flirting with Ne-Yo, a few rappers were standing around looking over important and cool, several chicks were waving their booties hoping to become a model in the next video and of course you had some dudes taking advantage of that booty promise. Other people were drinking, dancing and laughing. Not much of a drinker or a fan of random men feeling all over me I chilled in the "exclusive" (it was nice to go up there sure but I'm just making fun of how people pee on themselves to go to VIP...self included at certain times...shameless guilt) section and didn't stay too long. Shoot it was getting late! Even with all the carousing going on up the VIP stairs, Ciara was very poised, thankful and pleasant in normal Ciara fashion. Her birthday cake was huge at 8 feet and decorated in red and white. Toward the end of the evening her father spoke about how grateful he was the be there and have his daughter. It was his actual birthday that evening. Awww! Two Scorpios in the family! It was a great night, the club was still pretty stacked by the time I left at 2:00 a.m.

Alex Gidewon, the owner of The Velvet Room on Chamblee Tucker Rd. as well as The Compound on Brady Street in Midtown Atlanta knows how to make sure an event goes smoothly.

Nicole Garner (and the rest of her team) of The Garner Circle PR did an amazing job like she always does keeping the media on the red carpet together as well as making sure her stars of the nights (Ciara and Ne-Yo) were taken care of. Nicole is really making waves her involvement in these excellent celebrity events. She is trusted to take care of people and for good reason. She is very hands on and pleasant while doing it with a non "Hollywood" attitude. Recently Nicole was honored by Rolling Out Magazine on their top 25 list of most influential women in Atlanta. Well deserved for a young, ethnic, hard working woman.

So next week it's Jay-Z at The Velvet Room friends. As I understand there is no media allowed. I don't know if this will change or not but if it does it will probably be media accepted like, BET, Source, VIBE, etc. I told you last week and I'll tell you again, $50 to get in or $100 for the VIP line. Unless you know somebody who knows somebody. I need to get to know somebody. And if you know somebody that I can know then let me know. And until next time. Ciao!

NOTE: I met some cool cats on the carpet made of red...
1. CJ & the Sagittarius from www.konsolekingz.com (an urban gamers website, super rad!)
2. Davone from Clutch Magazine (www.clutchmagonline.com) a women's fashion, celebrity magazine with a strong online presence.
3. Kavario from Hip Hop Weekly magazine (www.hiphopweekly.com). Digitally and online they are killing it! This magazine spin off from Source Magazine has been in publication for a year and is the top selling magazine in the market today!!! They have a new project called Monster, a bigger more political, Hip Hop magazine that's gonna be outta the water. Kavario is also writing a book.
please forgive me if I misspelled any of your names...

Look out for those folks and check out their websites. They are on the come up or already moved up! Give respect where respect is due!
