Last weekend Marcus McNeil from the San Diego Chargers celebrated the 2nd year of his children's charity, Mack's Miracles, by throwing celebrity weekend party with mingling at the W hotel, bowling at Atlanta's 300, and a having a blast at Club Dreamz.

My weekend was crazy BUT i did have an opportunity to stop by the event at the posh W Hotel on Friday night to speak with Marcus, AllHipHop.com's founder, Grouchy Greg, and a few other friends and supporters in sports of Marcus. That evening Marcus was joined by fans, athletes, family, friends and hip hop and sports business moguls.

McNeil is a giant. The 23 year old did not miss out on the height department at 6 foot 9. But don't be alarmed he is also funny and truly kind & friendly. Speaking to the football player I learned that he started this organization because of his family. He told me that he would watch his nephew play video games all day and not want to go out and it concerend him. The offensive lineman wants to educate and keep kids active to fight child obesity. I have to say that speaking to Greg, AllHipHop.com's founder was the highlight of my night. You will never meet a more real dude who is all hip hop without being an artist himself. The guy is funny, kicked us some mad knowledge that evening, and is more honest than maybe some can stand, but I dig that. I thank him again for his time and for keeping us cracking up! Super Bowl XXXIII players & former Atlanta Falcon stars Jamal Anderson & Travis Hall unveil new patented home gym system that they have been involved in creating, ProSpot Fitness Home Gyms. The difference between ProSpot and other home gyms is in the technology. ProSpot models (there are several different machines) allow free range weights without a spotter. Check out the video above for a quick example. Jamal's little (big) cute self is on the commercial. By the way aren't we glad that Jamal decided (as well as America) that he WASN'T the best rap super star??!! (he had that silly little stint on the MTV mini series) It was still fun to watch though and nothing wrong with a little publicity. Now he and Travis really have something going that fits their expertise!

This is a great idea for your health, especially for staying healthy at home for the busier people who may not have as much time to go to the gym. ProSpot has a warehouse in Atlanta's Gwinnette area (but there are dealers for these products all over) and gave demonstrations of the equipment to certain members of the public last week. Sports Profile- Anotonio Cromartie

"Call me..."
He has been called a"freakish talent" after this year's season end. Also dubbed, "The Natural", a rarity, dependable, raw, and legend Antonio Cromartie, corner back of the San Diego Chargers is like inherent magic on the field. Yet earlier this week when a fan gushed over him being famous and wanted to take a picture with him, before the flash of the Canon he simply replied, "I'm not famous, i'm just a regular guy with an irregular job."

People see, people talk
What I hear the most about this man, "Antonio loves the game.". When people that know him speak they always stress the word love. But you don't have to be family, friends or a sports enthusiast to gather such obvious observations about #31's passion for the sport. Antonio is not only in the game, he becomes the game. And at 6'3 and 203 pounds, the 23 year old is all might.

Difficult circumstances, unlikely victories
He hurt his knee in 2005 so severely that the medical team would not clear him to play. Antonio begged but his pleas were unwarranted. During 2006 his mother underwent treatment for breast cancer, and he put football on hold for a more important love, blood. Then some of you may remember that in the 2006 first round picks Cromartie and his agent seemingly got an unfair deal when as the #19 pick, he took a $900,000 drop in cash flow with "unreasonable" incentives compared to the the #20 pick. Oh and he wasn't even supposed to start in 2007. Guess what? Difficult circumstances can always turn into victories...if even unlikely at first. Cromartie who was always seen to be a raw talent by his team and GM, A.J. Smith, lead the league in 10 interceptions last season and got to play in his first pro bowl. He didn't win defensive player of the year BUT he got a few votes for the title in his favor. And this is really just the beginning for Cromartie who was only in his second season. Wow...I wonder what greatness the future will hold for this young man.

Wedding bells?
Well one great thing the near future holds for Cromartie is more love. Not love for the game or just a love for his family, but an extended family. Antonio Cromartie as most fans know is getting married this summer. He'll be 24 by the time he jumps the broom with a lavish wedding ceremony taking place in ______ at the______with his lovely now fiance ______. Yeah sorry friends I can't give you too many details yet to protect the very delightful nuptials of the happy couple. Plus again many of you out there already know the who the when and maybe even the how.

But this I will share with you: these two really adore each other and the wedding is going to be fabulous!! Oh the decor, the elegance! I know there are some haters out there and people can say negative things all they wish about someone else's romance however nobody knows the true heart of a man but God, that man, that woman and maybe the people who are the closest to them. Trust, they are confident. I am helping to work this wedding so I plan to post some pictures at the right and permitted time to show you all.

I hope that you have your own unique greatness. Whatever that may be. For Antonio it is football, for Chris Brown it is singing and dancing, for Oprah it is reaching the world through talk, for Martha Stewart it is baking and decor, for my mom it is being so selflessly giving. What about you? Find yours and expand so it is not only for self, and share. I also hope that you have a special love that you can call your own. Not a shared one but your own. And if you don't have it YET then that's okay. It doesn't make you less. Hell some people just aren't ready or are full enough. But i ask that when you find it (however and whenever it may come to you) that you respect that love and be grateful. Some things will be taken and never returned again once mistreated. Message...

NFL Star Rod Coleman's second annual Rod Coleman Foundation Teen Entrepreneurship Camp!

Some of the children Coleman has "adopted" from the Turning Point Group Home in Decatur, GA, painted a mural for Rod.

Calling teens and parents' of teens! Rod Colman (ex Atlanta Falcon) is having his 2nd annual camp for business minded youth. I give props to this football superman who is known to give back to the community and those in need.

Atlanta Super Bowl XXXVII player and NFL Man of the Year nominee, Rod Coleman is hosting his second annual Rod Coleman Foundation Teen Entrepreneurship Camp!

Only 40 youths will be selected to participate in the five-day business camp. Teens ages 14-18 will learn marketing goals, create business cards, promotional materials, write a business plan, start an actual company and collect revenue and gain profit. Teens will develop skills in negotiation, sales, customer service, problem solving, networking, time management, record keeping, and public speaking. The Rod Coleman Foundation uses a unique hands-on, real-world approach that will help prepare teens for future careers in the workforce as well as entrepreneurship. The teens will then participate in the Rod Coleman Foundation Business Plan Challenge where they present their business plans to corporate executives and compete for venture capital to help fund their start-ups. Rod and other celebrity guests will judge the final business plan competition on April 11, 2008.

Frank Ski Kids Foundation youth bowl highlights

The team spirit was thicker than freshly shorn wool as I waded through the crowd of thousands of supporters on my way to the media tent. This past Saturday The Frank Ski Kids Foundation hosted their fourth annual youth bowl playoff game at Halford Stadium in Decatur. The Sandtown Vikings won in a landslide victory against the Ben Hill Tigers 56 to 6! The second team to play and win for the day was the Central DeKalb Black Jaguars against the Milford Warriors. But football isn't just for boys...each team had an energetic cheerleading squad of young ladies to back the guys up in their mission to win!

The children in these four incredible football teams ages 11-13 played in the exciting Frank Ski Kids Foundation's annual Youth Bowl to compete for their share of grants, prizes and trophies of more than $20,000! Frank and Tanya Ski are true philanthropists who care about the future of our city and the world. Frank Ski was honored October 14th this year by Martell Noblige for his philanthropic efforts in the community.

I did have an opportunity to speak with Frank and Tanya about the youth bowl, the history of the foundation as well as get some information of a future expansion. Look for that information here soon. I know...I'm a tease!

A highlight of the game day was watching Harmony, 4 young beautiful brown girls, perform the National Anthem. These little ladies sounded like black angels in flight.

The Championship game will be Saturday, December 15, 2007 @ 12:00PM @ Halford Stadium 3789 Memorial College Drive, Decatur, GA 30021. This time the Vikings will go up against the Black Jaguars. Mourning the death of young football strength, Sean Taylor

He was strong, attractive, young, a new dad (to daughter 18 month old Jackie), changing his life and on top of his game. It seems like his life was left unfinished as it was selfishly taken away from him for reasons unknown. Until more sense can be made of this tragedy we wonder as we mourn the death of Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins. We bask in sad shades of darkness to the tune of "what else would he have accomplished??" if given more than the short 24 years he had to prove on this earth in the aftermath of this sudden tragedy.

The football safety passed in the hospital on Tuesday November 27th a day after he and his girlfriend Jackie Garcia's Miami Florida home was broken into. The couple heard loud noises, Taylor went for a Machete he keeps for protection, the bedroom door was broken down, and Sean (no one else) was shot at a couple of times. One of the shots proved to be fatal. The bullet damaged the femoral artery in Taylor's leg, causing significant blood loss. Despite Taylor squeezing the hand of a nurse on staff, making it seem like he was going to possibly be fine, he didn't make it through.

The shooter was bold and careless. This intruder and killer didn't take a thing. Strangely there was an earlier invasion of Sean's home 8 days prior. Draws were rummaged through but again nothing was taken. Yet there was a small token left on the bed; a kitchen knife. Maybe a premonition or a warning.

It seems that a football contract is hazardous to your health but not just while on the playing field. This year ESPN's Outside the Lines (I enjoy this show) hosted a show with a topic on eventual body damage done to football players due to years of physical blows to the body, particularly the brain area where loss of motor skills and depression are a sad outcome from the head trauma. But it seems in the past few years the NFL has been plagued with these sudden death, unexpected tragic killings of players who were good guys, not thugs, who were simply living their normal lives, trying to stop a fight or in the wrong place at the wrong time (Darrent Williams on New Years). It is very real and very rough. Our prayers go out to the Taylor family.
