I'm so elated that I get to cover the trumpet awards this weekend. It is a star studded event (with a full schedule of different activities) weekend taking place in Atlanta. This is the 3rd year the annual awards since 1993 is going to be broadcast.
For those of you who don't know The Trumpet Awards honors African-American achievements in diverse fields including law, business, politics, medicine and entertainment (celebrities). “The Trumpet Awards is more than glamour and glitz, even though we look forward to the atmosphere that adds to the occasion,” said Xernona Clayton, founder and executive producer of the Trumpets. “The Trumpet Awards send a message across America and abroad, especially to young students, that African Americans are doing things second to none and have much to be proud of.”

Xernona Clayton (who quoted above), is the creative force behind the first TRUMPET AWARDS and the founder, president and CEO of the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc. She serves as the executive producer for the annual event. Look for the television broadcast airing of the Trumpet Awards going into syndication this year on March 3rd, followed by TV One and other broadcast outlets.
