Whoopi's first day on the job- The View's new co-host

The witty, intelligent, frank and political Whoopi Goldberg as many may know was hired on as the new co-host on the recently controversial and still popular ABC morning talk show, The View. Today marked Whoopi's first day to fill the airwaves with her brilliant humor. The View headed by Barbara Walters features four to five women who dish about current media topics (of which they often seem a part of) preview fabulous new products on the market and chat it up in interviews with different visiting stars.

I think Whoopi is going to be a fantastic addition to the cast because she brings a whole new sassy genius flavor to the set. She strikes me as an educated, auntie, mechanic, politician! I can tell that B. Walter's is very proud to have her on the team. But it does seem that the view (maybe for ratings sake) is obsessed with choosing a big mouth type to fill the left spot of former host Star Jones who was "fired" from the view last year due to activities and words that Jones spoke that Barbara was not fond of. Since that time Hot Head Rosie O'Donnell (Star's replacement) with her love me or leave me attitude caused rating rises, arguments with co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck and bitter rivalries such as with Donald Trump to circle her tenure on the view. I don't think Whoopi will be as cut throat or harsh as Rosie can be but I do believe she is a woman who will speak her mind- yet more intelligibly. The Sister Act star and Oscar winner has got a good warmhearted spirit about her. And the view needed a known face to represent black America, Goldberg will do just fine.
