Some friends told me that i should try this place so Vino had already begun to create a buzz for me. I took a mellow Friday and made a date with my curiosity to scour the place out. When i walked into the area of this upscale lounge i was reminded of the Virginia Highlands or Downtown Decatur, other popular eating and playing places in the building city of Atlanta, GA. New fancy town homes and houses, eclectic restaurants. Yeah i could do this. It looked like someone took notice and built this part of the city up to appeal to the appealing. That night I was the one to appeal and appealed to I was.

Instead of going on and on I will just point a few things out. Hopefully this will pique your interest enough to go check it out.
*wonderful appetizers and sides (chicken fajitas, fillet mignon skewers, spinach feta salad, are a MUST, etc.) that are very affordable. Check out the menu and their website here.

*Vino is Italian and Spanish for Wine so YES they have a large and different/expansive wine selection. Vino's take on the classic, Sangria, which they home-make with real pieces of fruit, wine and juice is c'est magnifique!

*elegant soft serene colors of browns and gold give the presence of royalty and comfort. There are tables and settee sofas to talk, lounge and dine on.

*small and intimate and classy but not stiff. Not ideal for very large parties. But great for friends meeting for happy hour or a lil romantic date. Boyz, she'll be impressed and you will get a second rendezvous!

*friendly staff!

*can hold private parties (lovely for a bridal shower!) in the banquet/wine shop room, BUT it is costly to rent!

*black owned

*live jazz on Friday and Saturday evening

*eclectic upscale area of HWY 20 and blvd/memorial dr.

Weekly events:

Bottomless Mondays- Choose from a selection of 40 wines by the glass every Monday.$20 per person
Wine & Cheese Tasting Wednesdays- Enjoy 6 wines and 3 cheeses from around the world every Wednesday at 7pm.$10 per person
Live Jazz Every Weekend- Sip, eat and listen to the sound of smooth jazz while conversing with friends. First set begins at 8pm. No Cover

So check it out! For the chic casual or the person with a lotta change in their pocket! Unless you are naked you won't feel out of place, because if you are there people may assume you have money and that's just fine. It just looks like that kind of place. So go on and get away with it and dine with the illusion. Just park the pinto down the block! It'll be our secret. Shhhhhhhhhh...

Chima Brazilian Steak House restaurant review

Chima Brazilian Steakhouse
3215 Peachtree Rd., NE
Atlanta, GA 30305
404-424-8281

Chima is not the newest kid on the block (the restaurant has locations in the DC area as well as Ft. Lauderdale) and not even the newest type of kid on this block. Fogo de Choao, and others have like ideas. But no one does it with more flair, sexiness, and unshakable customer service like Chima does.

See Fogo are like the good old boys because they've been around Atlanta for some years now. So what's brilliant about Chima is that it brings about a fresh, new school spin on the main dish meat serving establishments in the city.

Walking into the Atlanta location I was hit with the classic neo contempo style. The decor is fun, funky and fresh, both appealing to the younger and more mature eye. It's the place that "Sex in the City's" Carrie Bradshaw (okay,okay...Sarah Jessica Parker), Angela Bassett, Justin Timberlake, Tyler Perry, Kanye West, and Rihanna (quite the ensemble i know) would go for a power dinner, equally. Chima has a come hither appearance to bring you in and muscle behind that perfectly marinated or grilled meats to keep you coming back for more. Brains and beauty have met for such an occasion. And it's very inviting and lovely but not intimidatingly so.

What I love is that as soon as you are seated at this fine dining establishment, you eat. Yes just like that. You can go up to the delightfully stacked hot/cold salad bar ( i recommend the creamy potato salad). And when you are ready for your variety of chicken, steak, chops, lamb, ribs, then you turn your personal card over to let the very attentive (and might I add attractive) wait staff know that you are ready to eat. As long as your card is faced in the orange position then you will be fed to your heart's desire. Meat will be personally cut to your liking right before you. You might feel a little controlling, but it's okay while you are here, calm down.

Upon tasting such favorites like, the top sirloin and the bacon wrapped chicken a little part of me came alive as i tasted the brilliant marriage of select seasoning and meat. My mouth danced! And just like that the Grand opening of Atlanta's Chima Brazilian Steakhouse went off with a smash! Not that I'm THE say so for all cuisine in the city but I do know excellent food when I taste it.

Many of the meats are lean so low carbers can come and enjoy this feast! Other treats are an excellent tiramisu dessert cake, a great wine list, and hot side dishes that they bring to your table. Well you have the order the 1st two, the 3rd is part of your meal package. And that package is more than you will pay for at Ruby Tuesday's but you are not getting Ruby Tuesday quality (Kansas), you are in food Oz, remember that.

With the great location in Buckhead's Peachtree Rd., this is the grown and sexy place that Atlanta's who's who will be coming to for drinks and treats but no tricks. The meat is flavorable and succulent. You are not being mislead. To find out more about Chima go to:

Divan Restaurant & Hookah Lounge- Restaurant review

Divan Restaurant & Hooka Lounge
3125 Piedmont Road
Atlanta, Georgia 30305
404-993-6847
404-467-4297
http://www.divanatlanta.com/index.html
divanatlanta@yahoo.com

These are a few of my favorite things: God's Love, getting a pedicure, showers, a good book, "Blockbuster nights", Grandma's cooking, Angel perfume by Theirry Muegler, Dancing around, pushing the limit just a little, warm blankets, sweet candy kisses that make your heart beat fast from a cute boy, sincerity, cute blouses with funky accessories, carmel/chocolate roobios red tea, being heard, listening to people's stories and figuring them out (which you never really do it seems...but i aim to try), my family, and Mediterranean food but specifically Divan Restaurant & Hookah Lounge's Mediterranean food.

Wow. I have so much to say and no words to say them at all. I truly struggle to write this review to find the most complimentary words to describe my complete fascination. But you know me, I'll try. Well, my friend and I were looking for something a little different to try for dinner one night. You know..."Just got paid...Friday night" and we planned to go find a new joint to indulge in. I've always liked Labanese, Persian, Turkish, Greek, Morrocan style, well...Mediterranean cuisine. I made some friends from Turkey a while back and they always swore that I could pass for a Turkish girl with the nose that God had given me. Some might think that's good others not so good. But I know what is great and that's how the Turkish prepare meals. OMG! My Turkish friend used to make this fish, these cabbage rolls, this rice...everything was AMAZING! Gosh I miss Ghulshan, she was a great such girl. She taught me how to truly appreciate food from another culture. I'm not talking the Olive Garden here...no real authentic food made from someone who has skill in those other worlds. Well Divan Hookah Lounge has mastered it's craft, mainly because it is it's craft.

First of all, this is a place for friends or lovers. The atmosphere is very "nights within the king's harem": reds, purples, plush pillows, faux satans, long curtains, sensual paintings, and ah yes the Hookah pipes. Oh my goodness...okay well maybe more of a place for lovers but that doesn't stop many friends (who may be secret lovers) from filling the seats or the cushioned benches at this fabulous little house. You can eat outside, you can eat inside downstairs or upstairs, at a table or on a soft bench. It doesn't matter much, you will still have a wonderful experience. Just try it!

Okay, now the most important thing...the food. YES! That's it...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Try the hummus for an appetizer served with slightly toasted warm pita break, the flavor of the chickpeas and other spices joined together melt into happiness on your tounge. You feel as if this was made just for you and to your specific liking. And this is just for starters. When it comes to a meal here are some suggestions:

Pan Seard Tilapia basmati-herb rice, lemon buerre blanc, micro herbs

Saffron Chicken Kabobs saffron, lemon, yogurt, burberrys, and basmati rice

Lamb Kabobs Divan's special blend, yogurt, burberrys, and basmati rice

All the above is right from the menu so you can get a full understanding of what comes within these dishes. You will not be dissapointed in the seasoning blend and fresh flavors which mesh together in harmony with the basmatti rice. The fish is tender, the chicken is super and the lamb...ah the lamb is perfect! If you are a drinker, and i do dabble on the occasion, try the Strawberry Kiss, a blend of dark and light rums with chocolate, cream, strawberries and I think...love potion because I fell in love with that drink. For something a little lighter, the Pineapple Upside Down Martini is a delicously classic blend of vodka, vanilla and pineapple juice with a bit of cream. Mmmm...warm and smooth. Since this is a hookah lounge (no not a downtown street walker!) many try the hookah sweet flavor filled smoking pipes which here is water filtered to remove the tar and nicotine, only a slight trace of tabacco is left but I'd rather be safe than sorry so I dissed the hookah smoking altogether...but it sure does smell good. Slightly less intoxicating than my Strawberry Kiss. I have to talk about that special martini again. Oh all other drinks have competition now!

Yeah everytime I go, I'm happy but when I leave, I'm sad. I start acting like the ex-girlfriend who won't leave. But it's not too sad because unlike that bad boy you had to let go of, this is good stuff. Fresh, smart, food and you are welcome back. My oh my...I've been charmed.

Juice on the street is that Luda is opening up a new restaurant in Atlanta!

Luda on the red carpet at the 2008 Trumpet Awards

Where else would Ludacris open up a new restaurant but home sweet home, Atlanta, GA! The Juice on the Street is that the new digs, Straits Restaurant will be located at 793 Juniper Street in the Midtown area of city and will seat 215 guests. This will be the 4th location of the fancy yet reasonably priced restaurant in the states. Straits has 3 locations already in California where Luda was first impressed by the food while dining in the San Francisco location. Chris Yeo, the owner and Chef of Straits is partnering with the rapping actor to bring this modern Singapore dining location to Atlanta. Look out for this guaranteed new hot spot in April 2008. You know the opening is gonna be fabulous! Check out the tantalizing menu at http://www.straitsrestaurants.com/.

It's smart/great that Chris is investing and staying out of trouble. Luda is confident, outspoken and not a pushover so I know this investment was well thought about. His mother, who helps run some of his businesses probably also gave the thumbs up. I look forward to this place to eat owned by a rapper, like Cafe Dupri and Justin's.

Bones- Atlanta restaurant review

Bones
3130 Piedmont Rd NE
Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone: 404-237-2663
Fax: 404-233-5704
http://www.bonesrestaurant.com/

I have been to Bones before so when I recently paid the well known restaurant a return visit I was excited and filled with a sense of distant familiar. Nothing of a "bandwagoner" I say what I mean and mean what I say upon reviews based on true experience regardless of the status quo. And again it had been a while since I stepped ground into Bones but one who has dined in such exquisiteness will not quickly forget the wonderful meal that once filled the tummy and tempted the mouth for more.

Well nothing had changed. Nope. And probably not since the dining house opening in 1979. Upon my third visit at this fine Atlanta establishment I saw that Bones still had the old classic style. Like your grandfather's study or envision a private college rugby team's honorable awards dinner at the old headmasters estate. If you have an imagination you can see what I see now. The rooms are filled with dark comfortable browns, sturdy wood, reds, worn yet still fabulous carpets, and oil paintings that line proudly above the white linen dressed dining tables. The theme is old money. Even the lavatory facilities are styled and sturdy with full, private doors on each stall. I know it's rude to talk about restrooms, even clean ones like these and food at the same time but I'm sticking with giving you a visual view of the restaurant in this paragraph so bear with me!

Bring your heaviest wallet or daddy's wallet but bring one with knowledge that you will spend but that the spending will be worth every single delicious bite of the favored cut of fillet mignon you may choose to be served to you! And served you will be. The meals are served to perfection from a large menu including an extensive wine list from the BEST wait staff i have EVER countered in Atlanta. Polite, prissy professional without being too stiff. Our waiter wasn't quite as fast as i'd wished that night however not only does good food take time but I watched all the wait staff around me that night and collectively they were astounding in their service! Even the complimentary valet, please tip them (if it is raining they give you an umbrella!) is on top of their game.

Appetizing- Try the cold shrimp appetizer or the house or cesar salad. The shrimp is large and plump and both salad and seafood are fresh.

The best sides and veggies- You must try the spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, hash browns (OMG!!!!) and mashed potatoes...yes all of them!

The best dessert- Just about all of it is good...trust me we ordered almost everything. The only thing that disappoints is the cheesecake, which is more reminiscent of a huge molded milk wad with cream and powdered sugar accompanied by pretty fruit compost as if the fruit is supposed to make up for the lack in bland flavor. Uhmmm...No!

Great tables- We didn't have a private room for our party of 8 as I have before however the experience and view were still wonderful in this large restaurant.

Great space- again the place is huge and has two levels...2.5 if you count the slightly elevated bar area.

Good things come to those who wait yes you wait a while for your t-bone, fillet mignon (the taste is perfect!), veal, lamb (oh yum...it was good!) but u wait a while in a high class primarily steak and seafood restaurant. And trust me I am not a red meat fanatic BUT i'm willing to cheat every once in a year for the tastesation that is Bones. This is not a place that serves you just bones, no the opposite...your plate will be stacked from this non fru fru menu. Of course we know that Bones was named for the fact that it is a red meat house and some of the cuts of meat have bones right? Well anything sounds good to me as long as they keep that high standard that has kept them best rated for 20 years.

Sambuca, Hit AND Miss- Restaurant review

Outdoor the artistic Sambuca, complete with complimentary valet parking
The lovely stage and some of the seating inside Sambuca
Sambuca
3102 Piedmont Rd. NE
Atlanta, GA 30305
404-237-5299
On a luke warm November night I psyched myself up for an evening of food and live jazz or maybe live jazz and food. I stepped into the classy Atlanta location of Sambuca (there are several including one in Houston, TX). As long as the sultry restaurant had been on the scene, I had never been and realized that several others hadn't either so I truly looked forward to matching the raved name with a unique experience.

I came, i saw, i listened, i grooved, i ate. The verdict?...S'aight man. Well let me break it down for you:

Ambiance: classy, great colors, dim and romantic atmosphere, live jazz with talented singers and bands, lots of space even for a bigger group set-up
Staff: stuffy & stiff but professional
Cool!: the band gives personal birthday shout outs, on Sunday evening's there is no cover charge or seating wait, also Sunday night features a half price wine special (log onto the website to see all weekday specials)
Food: s'ok...pricey...decent but coulda been better for the price.

Losers: The seafood martini (cocktail shrimp and crab stuffed into a martin glass with juices) was not worth its weight in gold, and the rhythm and blue's burger (angus beef stuffed with blue cheese crumbles) was reminiscent of yo momma's greasy house burgers that you used to have to eat when you were 7 years old. I'm not saying that mom's meat was bad but what I am saying is that i didn't come there for that and pay for hard bread, lettuce and a fat grease burger...
Bad for business: the food came out...GASP almost cold!
What I noticed: No one (at our table of 10) was really excited about their meals. It was more of a Hem and Haw as people mechanically ate and mused over the food instead of exciting rantings over how good the dishes were.
However you can try this: chessy potatoes au gratin, bourbon sweet potatoes, the creme brulee
Take Note: the menu does claim that in order to sit in the restaurant you MUST order and further more there is a $15 minimum. In the case of our party most followed and surpassed that disclaimer "rule" but some didn't and while they did order only ate dessert. All deserts are to the tune of $6-$8 dollars.
SamBOO BOO!: The staff neglected to write down our reservation so when we arrived they were not expecting us. This would have been a disaster on a Friday or Saturday night. Make sure when you call (if you call) that they take down everything and repeat it back to you.
That Night: Ah the whole evening ended up being accursed for me anyhow (long dumb story so I'll spare you) so the food being un-Wowing shouldn't have really daunted me but it did. Now i'm not blaming the food for my punk evening or the evening on the blasted food but since the evening was a MISS at least the food being magnificent (especially with the price) could have made the night salvageable or better. But alas to no avail it did not. I coulda had a V8. Or rathered it. No...I take that back I don't like that stuff but I would have been happier with a Burger King Whopper: you get what you pay for and it tastes like nice fast food.

If you are looking to be entertained with fantastic mood music, sit in a dark spot with your sweetie, be lulled to your romantic place by red and purple lights then go to Sambuca! You will be impressed. If you want to accompany that feeling and experience by average food then still go. But if you are looking for the total package of incredible environment matched with superb food (for that high price) then do not hit GO. Instead come to Sambuca for a sexy night out for drinks and dessert, it will still run up your tab. But get your main meals down the street at several of the other fine dining houses that line the popular Piedmont Rd.

ZenNubian 7 Tea House- Restaurant/Spiritual Hut Review

ZENNUBIAN 7 TEA HOUSE
163 Peters St
Atlanta, GA 30313
Phone: 404-521-9961 or 1-866-7-nubian
Email: zennubian7@yahoo.com

Okay everyone that knows me knows that I am a meat eater just like my daddy. Bonafide give me the meat and tatoes kinda gal. But as I grew in age and wanted better health I took advice from good friends and went more towards salads and vegetables, herbs and natural healing in general. But still despite all this i NEVER considered going vegetarian because I still like meat ALOT and certainly never dared to venture into the land of the Vegans.

So why was I put at a Vegan Restaurant on one of my great friend's 30th birthday? Well I'll tell you why...it's because I needed to have an open mind to a new experience (and support her of course!) and I'm glad that I did. ZenNubian Tea House 7 was a real Zen, healthy, decent cost, and tasty (with sea salt added) experience.

First things first: Don't come hungry. No no no it's not that they won't feed you lots of food it's just that it takes a loooooooooooooooooooooong, did i say long? Yes long time to get your healthy vegan food grub on! It's not that they are slow it's just that all food is natural and prepared and made to order with limited grille space. Wow. So my Zen was almost ruined with by my Yen for my food to come NOW! It was a group of about 8 of us so trust me...we waited. But it was worth the treat that we received.

The scene: I've always wanted to eat at a place where it looked like Buddha lived there. ZenNubian is reminiscent of what Buddha's hut probably looked like. It is strong dark colored wood tables very low to the ground to complement the large pillows and pads that you will sit on, yes sit on. There are but a few chairs and futons as a place to eat it with normal sized tables. I liked doing this ground sitting thing until my legs started to throb with fiery pin needles from the agony that comes from hours of sitting.

There is a section with healing stones, old spiritual and healing books and even the bathroom in back looks like an Indian African safari!

The good: The potatoes, the many wonderful healing teas (over 90), the fresh vegetable and pasta bowls are so HUGE, the paninis made with flat bread or better yet fresh Nan are so wonderful. Try the Veggie Beef Panini. It doesn't taste like beef no, but has the same consistency along with a sweet and savory flavor to complement the meal. Remember this is a HEALTHY place!
The bad: The Panini's have flavor BUT lots of the food has no flavor until you put sea salt on it. Just go ahead and ask for it automatically when you order your meal. And again you will wait some time for your meal so pray there is no crowd and don't bother going if you a castaway who hasn't eaten real food for months!

The ugly: The jalapeno cheese grits. Ewww. Fake cheese...ewww! Too watery. The "chocolate" desert cake...OMG...hellz no! It was made of sweet red beans and felt like marshmallow but tasted like yucky! They tried yall but nuh uh! Hated it, nuff said.

EXTRA! EXTRA!: ZenNubian has vegan cooking classes at $25, Yoga and Tea on Monday nights for $10, free live Jazz on Tuesday nights, they show a silent martial arts film every evening while you dine, and they will do a party for you on-site or off-site. They also have smoothies and fresh juices for your health and detox purposes.

Ahhh... ZenNubian is a little taste of Heaven on earth except the food in Heaven won't cost and will be pre-seasoned with the goodness of God!

The Real Chow Baby- Restaurant Review!!

The Real Chow Baby
1016 Howell Mill Rd. NW
Atlanta, GA 30318 (with a new location opening at the Cobb Galleria Mall per website)
Website: www.therealchowbaby.com
Email:
info@therealchowbaby.com
Phone: (404) 815-4900

I've been wanting to write this review for a minute now. I happened upon this hip Asian/American stir fry eatery earlier (and several times since) in the '07 with a couple of gal pals of mine on a girlz nite out excursion...well to my surprise and delight I found a place that's a hip keeper in my book of worthy dining in the ATL.

The REAL- It's a large dine in or take out colorful, busy, contempo meets 1940's, big band music playing spot for the finger poppin' beatnik chick, college jock, business junkie, maybe even the book club meeting to on one of the quieter nights, and casual meal stopper alike. It's a place where all the tables are for the popular kids and everyone is popular. All types fit in and are welcome. Probably just don't come in with a mangled face and tattered pants as if attacked by Sasquatch and his crew or anything like that ok.

The spot boasts of indoor and outdoor (with heat lamp...YES) seating with rather small, simple light colored deco tables, a long bar type set up where you choose your toppings to go on your personalized dish (if it's nasty it is totally your bad), and a long space set out for the long line that is sure to gather with the hungry and chatty in a single file to make that original dish. You put together your master piece and then give it to a chef to stir fry and walla the wait staff will bring it to your table. Each guest who orders is given a wooden stick with a number...your dish is recognized by your number.

CHOW- Fresh, fresh, fresh! Fresh veggies (HEALTHY!!!)chicken, beef, scallops and sauces to go on top of your dish that they cook all together. You can choose to make a wrap, soup, a rice dish (2 types) or a pasta dish with several types of pasta! And yes the toppings or ingredients you choose from are mostly fresh and they have a plethora of choices like: mint, cilantro, parsley, onions, scallops, celery, nuts, basil, spinach, zucchini, bell peppers, water chestnuts, raisins, carrots, peas, broccoli, green beans, eggs and SO much more. You can smell the garden in here people and you are sure to find something for you!

Oh BABY!- Yum! Belisimo! Well that is up to you really. If you choose the right sauce and toppings combo then your little chef sensation will be a delight. They have suggestions at the top of a large wall menu that helps the non creative of the world (dang right braineders...) with good combos for classic or The Real Chow Baby's custom dishes that have found favor in foodies eyes. Now personally since I like to be inventive and go against the advice of the wall, I've made some dishes...lots of them actually and uh...I've had some hits and some misses...but the great thing is since this is an $11.95 all a mug can eat type of deal..."If at first you don't succeed...dust yourself off and try again..." in the words of the late and great, talented Aaliyah Haughton (still miss her). So yes do go back for more, seconds or thirds...I think they really want you to anyway...or maybe that was just my belly talking. The food is healthy so you won't feel like you are getting fat but I must be honest three trips to ANY buffet is cause for pants to snap and fat to ripple.

I enjoy most the peanut sauce combos (they also have soy, light soy, pesto, peanut pesto, a ginger type, etc.) which of course is the fattiest of the selection but hey that's what i like and "It's like that and that's the way it is...HUH!". Okay...enuff.

The Real Chow Baby: funky, fun, casual yet sophisticated, kinda Soho in flavor or atmosphere...I felt like I could be in a mock or bootleg China Town friends. So my last words of persuasion are..try it!! And I'm not mocking Vitamin Water...I love that drink...especially Formal 50 and Triple X...yes! Pick me, pick me for sponsorship (shameful plug) Ok I digress. But yes try this place if you want something new, healthy and totally different than what you are used to at normal stuffy sit down restaurants where you have no control...control freaks of America (not myself included...shut up.).

The Harlem Bar- Atlanta's Harlem (Lounge Review)

262 Edgewood Ave NE (Cross Street: Bell St. NE)

Atlanta, GA 30303
(404) 588-0014

"Don't I know you from somewhere?" - Nights of nostalgia. Strong comfortable feelings take over, teasing memories sweep across the eyes, and a frat boy familiarity hugs your body when you step inside this soulful lounge/bar. Ouch that guy with the suit on just stepped on your toes, dang that girl with the purple mohwawk just bumped into your bruised left knee. It sure is tight in here! Tight double meaning because the place is so very small you can see into your neighbor's mouth and guess what they had for dinner...last week, BUT it's so cool and mellow that you don't mind that your toe, knee, and eyes hurt (from seeing every detail of the girl's esophagus 1 inch away from you). You quickly decide this is where I'm bringing all your friends. And the vibe is so impressively chill that you feel guilt if you keep it from your enemies!

"I feel so relaxed with you." - A live DJ is doing it to it on the weekends and lovely people become your new best friends at the table on top of you, eh i mean next to you. The decor is something straight out of a beatnik chick poetry reading from the "FREE LOVE" 60's or the "DYNOMITE" 70's. Chunky beads serve as curtain shields from the outside world where hopefuls stand to get into this outer world, old paisley like couches make an appearance, the bar is surrounded by sturdy stools, and the coolest, "I swear this used to be in my grandmother's living room" lamp sits perched proudly on a side table nestled between a window and the informal make shift DJ "quarters". But all the flaws are the unique appeal in this jumpin' yet unobtrusive night spot. It's not overdone, it's just right. You forget you're not at home...or are you?? Once you walk in you put on your rose colored glasses and all you see is sunshine in the dark shadowy cubical. Damn why does everybody in here look so good?! Now take off your glasses... and you see it's not a mirage.

Chill nights- Monday –Wednesday
Enjoy an African American Movie Classic like Foxy Brown, Shaft, or The Color Purple playing on the wall (a.k.a. big screen) while you feast on that soulful fried chicken meal with the irresistible mashed potatoes.

Nights that never end- Thursday-Sunday
When can I get a damn table? Who gives a **** you’ll wait an hour (it's busy so just come before 9pm dawg) to listen to the sounds of the magical spinnings of those underground and old skool, mixed with a hint of new, hip hop beats while you sip on a foxy momma. And you aint gotta be a foxy momma to feel the "be easy" vibe of the city of Harlem, right in the middle of downtown Atlanta…shawty. See you’re still in the A after all.

Hits- the kitchen is open until 2am plus the food is slammin’. Try the creamy shrimp & grits appetizer, the friend chicken meal with mashed potatoes (you MUST try the tatoes!), or the catfish fingers (and i'm not a fan of the bottom feeding fish but the succulent taste of these cats will put your taste buds in a frolicking frenzy!). And did I tell yall that there is no cover charge?! Yes I'll see you there.

Misses- you have to find parking on the bustling streets but don't be alarmed by the appearance, the city of OZ awaits you. The bar/restaurant is eny tiny insy winsy so arrive early, but it’s worth the friendly beautiful crowd.

1. Have you been to the Harlem Bar? What do you think?

2. Would you like to visit?
