The Brit Bomb and otherwise good highlights of the 2007 MTV VMA Awards

Poor girl's just trying to get back on top. I know she just wants to get her focus off of her messed up ex, loss of glitz, and changing body, etc. She truly doesn't look as stunning and exciting as i've seen the born and raised country girl in past performances but that could be again since she's been going through drama, had kids and is under more pressure than anyone else right now in the industry to perform. Well despite major Britney rehearsal hype the actual performance was a let down. Even her own musical peers took note, "It definitely could have been a lot better," the musical explosion singer/producer Akon commented post show. "She seemed nervous ... you could tell by the expression on her face. Instead of just blocking everybody out and doing her thing, you could tell she was thinking about it." Unconvincing lip syncing, cracked out robotic dance moves, stop and go singing and out of breath and out of rhythm on the stage the most stalked celeb gave an unforgettable performance, but not unforgettable in a good way.

It's rough because she had such a long way to fall with such high and very critical expectations. I hope she's not fallen off. I think her new single is catchy and would like to see her rise again. Mariah did, why not Spears? Ok so the singing talent is no comparison between the songbird that is Mariah and the young mother that is Britney BUT the personal struggle of one industry goddess to another is similar. Give her a little break...

Well kudos to Justin Timerlake, I heard his party was that ISH, he also won 4 trophies including artist of the year (and apparently he wants more music on MTV instead of the TV part), Nelly F. did a great job on stage (such a cutie), A. Keys was a gorgeous crowd fave and sang her new heartfelt love ballad, "No One" (the word is that Diddy could not keep his eyes off of her), Dr. Dre got his honors, Beyonce and Shakira got best calabo, Luda (who just celebrated the big 30 last week with a huge party- bruh wore this smokin purple velvet jacket to his shindig) was looking real clean and fine, Chris Breezy tore it up and did a little bit of Micheal Jackson during his show down, Rihanna happily won best video and single of the year with Umbrella (gosh love that song...used to hate it too), Fall Out Boy scored best group, Gym Class Heroes walked away with best new artists, Cee-lo did his slick sexy "Darling Nicky" a Prince classic, T.I. as always killed it with his passionate performance of "Big Thngs Poppin", and 50 Cent stopped by the most popular Justin suite to perform "Ayo Technology" with the two big T's of the night Timberlake and Timbaland.
