Yeah Rev Run! Honors for the man in cloth (and others) at the BMI Urban Music Awards.

Story from Starpulse

Former Run-DMC star Reverend Run has been honored for his contributions to music at this year's BMI Urban Awards. Friday's star-studded Las Vegas ceremony saw the founding Run-DMC rapper - real name Joseph Simmons - presented with the BMI Icon award for his hugely successful hip-hop career, joining the likes of previous honorees, Al Green and James Brown.
Del Bryant, the CEO of BMI, says, "He is the man for all time. Run-DMC never crossed over. Popular music crossed over to them."
Other winners on the night included rapper Slim Thug and producer Sean Garrett (Song of the Year for Beyonce's Check On It), while Pharrell Williams was named BMI Producer of the Year for the third time.
The BMI Urban Awards, which was held at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino, salutes the world's premier urban producers, songwriters and publishers.

Looks like some good stuff was going down at the show. I wonder why these awards don't get as much hype as MTV? I guess it's a televison thing. Anyway congrats to the winners!
