O.J. Simpson has been questioned by investigators as a possible suspect in a break-in at a hotel room in a Las Vegas casino, police said Friday. Sgt. John Loretto of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said there was an allegation of a theft, "involving Simpson as a suspect," according to CNN. "It is an alleged theft, and he is an alleged suspect." Police spokesman Jose Montoya tells the Associated Press that the break-in was reported late Thursday night at the Palace Station casino and that it involved sports collectibles. No other information was available. "When they talked to him, Simpson made the comment that be believed the memorabilia was his," Montoya said. "We're getting conflicting stories from the two sides." After being questioned, Simpson was released, but is still believed to be in Las Vegas, according to Montoya, who said: "We don't believe he's going anywhere." Investigators in the casino case are scheduled to deliver a report to prosecutors on Friday, Montoya said. Later, the district attorney's office will decide whether to pursue charges. Simpson's attorney, Yale L. Galanter, did not immediately return calls for comment. A spokeswoman for the Palace Station casino also did not immediately return a call for comment. Simpson, a former NFL star and actor, was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. Later, a jury held him liable for the killings in a wrongful death lawsuit. He has recently penned a controversial fictional book, which hits bookstores Friday, called If I Did It.

  1. Damn OJ, it is a sad day when you get picked up on a alleged theft. You would think he would be smart and claim his innocence but this dumb azz say "this memorabilia is mine" I guess you can't expect nothing more from him with a book "If I Did It" Dumb Azz!
